Homework Organization

Homework Organization Tip

As an experienced middle school teacher, I have seen how important organization skills are to middle school students. Often, kids are able to do their work, but they just don’t know where it is; or they have done their work but can’t find it to turn in. In the hustle and bustle of their school day, papers get shoved anywhere they will fit. When you child gets home from school and sits down to do his or her homework, spend five minutes going through the papers from the day and filing them away in the proper place. This five minutes will help your child keep on top of his or her organization and will serve as a brief review of the day. It could be the most productive five minutes spent of the day!
